Lisa Faulkner 'All Clear' After Breast Cancer Surgery!
Actress Lisa Faulkner shares her relief after successful breast cancer surgery, urging everyone to get mammograms. A powerful message of early detection!
Beloved actress, presenter, and food writer Lisa Faulkner has announced some truly heartening news: she is now "all clear" after undergoing surgery for breast cancer. The star, known for her roles in EastEnders and Holby City, revealed her recovery journey on Instagram, bringing a wave of relief and support from fans and fellow celebrities.
Faulkner, 54, shared that she had a "big op" two weeks ago, and received excellent news from her doctors. "It's all good, they've got everything out, so it's all clear and I just need some radiotherapy in a few weeks," she told her followers. She explained that her diagnosis was in the "very early stages of breast cancer," which allowed for timely and effective treatment.
While acknowledging she still has "quite a bit of healing to do," Faulkner expressed profound gratitude and optimism, stating, "But I'm good, I'm well. And feeling so much better." Her experience has reinforced a crucial message she now passionately advocates: the importance of mammograms. "I'm so grateful that I went for my mammogram. Don't put them off, go, because they found this - without this mammogram, it wouldn't have been picked up."
She also extended her heartfelt thanks to the National Health Service (NHS), emphasizing the invaluable access to screening and early treatment. "I want to say thank you to our wonderful NHS and the fact that we can have these mammograms, and we can get treatment early," she added.
Faulkner's announcement quickly garnered support from friends and colleagues, including former EastEnders star Tamzin Outhwaite, who sent good wishes. Lisa Faulkner is married to chef John Torode, with whom she co-hosted the ITV cooking show, John & Lisa's Weekend Kitchen. Her brave and open sharing of her health journey serves as a powerful reminder about proactive health management and the life-saving potential of early detection.
