The quick thinking and actions of her son, Oscar, 18, were pivotal.

He immediately ran for help, setting in motion a coordinated rescue effort involving the RNLI Bude Lifeboat paramedics and the Cornwall Air Ambulance. These emergency services swiftly tracked her down and transported her to Barnstaple hospital, a journey made more manageable for Allsopp thanks to a "huge amount of painkillers."

Recounting her experience, Allsopp expressed immense gratitude for everyone involved in her rescue and subsequent care. She humorously acknowledged being "high as a kite" from the medication but was full of praise for the "amazing, kind & caring" staff at Barnstaple hospital. She described how they had "operated on the leg," and while she anticipates needing a boot and crutches for a while, she feels incredibly fortunate.

Allsopp reflected on the severity of the situation, stating,

I feel very, very lucky that it was possible to reach me and get me to hospital so quickly.

She also found a silver lining, noting, "I have a job that I can do on crutches." While certainly not the birthday she envisioned, she concluded that it's "not a birthday I am going to forget in a hurry," reiterating her heartfelt thanks to all who assisted her.
