L7 Bassist Jennifer Finch Diagnosed with Aggressive Brain Cancer

Jennifer Finch, the iconic founding bassist of the rock band L7, has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. This heartbreaking news comes as the band was preparing for their “Last Hurrah” farewell tour in Fall 2026.

Initially, it was hoped that her condition could be managed with radiation, but it has progressed rapidly, leading to unforeseen complications. Finch has already undergone multiple surgeries, resulting in significant physical limitations. She now requires extensive ongoing medical care, rehabilitation, and professional in-home assistance to manage her condition.

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched by her friends and family to help cover the substantial costs of her in-home nursing care, physical and speech therapy, essential medical equipment, and other necessities. This community effort aims to provide her with the best possible support during this challenging time.

Due to her medical condition, Finch will unfortunately not be able to join L7 on the upcoming US leg of their farewell tour. L7 singer-guitarist Donita Sparks shared the band's devastation, stating, "We are all devastated by the news and are surrounding her with love, protecting her privacy and dignity, while helping raise the resources she urgently needs for the care ahead. Jennifer is family, and we want her to feel the full strength of the community that has loved and supported her for so many years.”

The band, with Finch's blessing, will proceed with the tour, which is set to kick off on October 9th in Phoenix and conclude on November 14th in Los Angeles. While Jennifer will be dearly missed on stage, the focus remains on her health and recovery, with the rock community rallying around her with immense support.
