"Verity," the highly anticipated psychological thriller film based on Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel, has hit the big screen, captivating audiences with its twisted narrative and an equally compelling soundtrack. Directed by Michael Showalter, this adaptation promises to be as enthralling as its literary predecessor.
The film plunges viewers into the world of bestselling author Verity Crawford, whose life takes a mysterious turn after an accident.
She enlists another writer, Lowen, to complete her book series.
However, Lowen soon uncovers a disturbing manuscript that casts a dark shadow over Verity's psychological state, leading to a journey filled with suspense and unease.
A star-studded cast brings this dark tale to life, featuring Anne Hathaway in a leading role. She is joined by Dakota Johnson, Josh Hartnett, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Brady Wagner, and Irina Dvorovenko, each contributing to the film's intense atmosphere.
"Verity" made its worldwide cinematic debut on October 2, 2026, marking another significant adaptation from Colleen Hoover's popular works, following "It Ends With Us," "Regretting You," and "Reminders Of Him."
Beyond the gripping storyline, the film's score, composed by the acclaimed Volker Bertelmann (known for "All Quiet On The Western Front"), plays a crucial role in enhancing the psychological tension. Bertelmann’s compositions perfectly underscore the film’s eerie and suspenseful moments.
The "Verity" soundtrack also features a curated selection of "needledrops", popular songs that are strategically placed to amplify specific scenes. These include the atmospheric "Girl Feels Good" by FKA Twigs, the soulful "Close But Not Quite" from Curtis Mayfield, and the classic "Body And Soul" by Benny Goodman.
Other notable tracks are "Family And Friends" by Oklou, "Sugar!
Honey! Love!" by Kali Uchis, "Hymne A L'Amour" by Lorenzo Bernardi, "FÃ¥ En Gave" by Alle, and "Back To Me" by The Marias. This diverse collection of music adds depth and emotion to the film's intense psychological journey.
