EPFO launches E-PRAAPTI portal to recover inoperative EPF accounts
New Aadhaar-based portal E-PRAAPTI helps locate, track, link UANs, and activate old EPF accounts securely.
The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is set to launch E-PRAAPTI, a dedicated digital platform to identify, track, link UANs, and activate old EPF accounts. The portal will use Aadhaar-based authentication to allow members to securely access old EPF accounts that may not have a UAN linked with them, enabling users to update their member profile and begin the process of UAN linking and activation.
E-PRAAPTI is designed to streamline identification and tracking of inactive or inoperative accounts, making it easier for members to connect these accounts to a UAN and get them activated. The system aims to simplify the path from recognition of dormant accounts to official activation, reducing missing or unlinked records and improving account visibility for members.
The move comes amid a period of high settlements in FY26 and reflects EPFO’s ongoing push to clean up member records and ensure that provident fund savings are accessible and properly linked to the correct UAN. Officials emphasized that Aadhaar-based authentication will provide a secure access route for members to engage with their old accounts and complete the linking process without unnecessary delays.
Once launched, E-PRAAPTI is expected to integrate with existing EPFO platforms to deliver a smoother user experience, allowing individuals to verify their identity, locate inoperative accounts, and complete UAN linking and activation steps efficiently.
