It notes that in 2024, former IRS contractor Charles Edward Littlejohn, who worked for Booz Allen Hamilton, was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to leaking tax data about Trump and others to outlets such as The New York Times and ProPublica, between 2018 and 2020. The suit adds that the U.S. Treasury Department has cut its contracts with Booz Allen Hamilton following Littlejohn's indictment and imprisonment. Representatives for the Treasury and the IRS did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The complaint was filed in a Florida federal court on January 29, 2026, highlighting privacy concerns and the government's duty to protect sensitive tax information.
