Former Member of Parliament (MP) Vinayak Raut, a prominent leader associated with Uddhav Thackeray's Sena faction, along with six other family members, is currently facing serious charges of harassment. The allegations stem from a complaint filed by his daughter-in-law, Girija Raut, who claims to have endured prolonged physical and mental torment.
According to Girija Raut's complaint, the harassment began shortly after her marriage in December 2017. Among the distressing accusations, she alleges that occult rituals were performed and unidentified pills were administered to her, purportedly to help her conceive. Girija Raut further stated that the continuous mental harassment she suffered prevented her from speaking out earlier about her ordeal.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter. Following the complaint, police have already arrested one of the accused, identified as Firoz Baba. The ongoing inquiry aims to uncover the full extent of the allegations and ensure justice is served in this high-profile case involving a political figure.
