Srinagar — The Border Security Force (BSF) chief has signaled that Operation Sindoor is far from over, as security forces continue to counter cross-border threats along the Line of Control. The operation, launched on May 7 in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians, aims to dismantle the terror infrastructure across the LoC and deeper inside Pakistan. While many launching pads and forward locations have been destroyed, authorities warn that several sites remain intact and terrorists are still present in some pockets along the frontline. The message from the top brass: Sindoor will proceed with full resolve, and any Pakistani action will be met with a strong, befitting response.
As winter looms, infiltrators are said to be shifting tactics, moving to depth areas away from the border to push terrorists into Indian territory. Security officials stress that the campaign will remain active until all threats are neutralized, and that ongoing coordination between the Indian Army and BSF is crucial to maintaining vigilance. The BSF Jammu sector, which is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee and 61st Raising Day, continues to man roughly 200 km of the International Border with Pakistan and remains deployed along the LoC to curb infiltration attempts.
In independent assessments, the campaign has reportedly intensified border control efforts. The BSF reports that thousands of miles of border terrain are constantly being scanned for any sign of activity, with a focus on preventing infiltrations ahead of harsher winter conditions. The force reiterates its commitment to the motto Jeevan Paryant Kartavya, underscoring its pledge to safeguard border communities and maintain a secure environment in the region.
Separately, officials note that since the onset of Operation Sindoor, there has been significant activity on the other side of the border as well, with reports of numerous launchpads becoming operational. In some areas, about 12 launchpads near Sialkot and Zafarwal are cited as examples of the evolving threat landscape, underscoring the need for continued vigilance and readiness. The overall objective remains to stop cross-border infiltration and ensure civilian safety in the Jammu region, with the BSF emphasizing a zero-tolerance approach to any breach.
As the situation develops, authorities stress that the campaign will adapt to changing tactics and terrain, maintaining a persistent posture to safeguard India's borders and prevent further attacks on civilians.
