Markets rebound as IT stocks lift Sensex above 83,500
Indian indices bounce back from a three-day slide as IT shares boost gains; Sensex trades near 83,500 and Nifty around 25,570.
Indian stock benchmarks opened flat on Tuesday as investors held steady ahead of cues from global markets. The Nifty50 hovered above 25,550, while the BSE Sensex remained near the 83,500 level, reflecting cautious trading after a subdued session in the previous day.
During the day, the indexes moved higher as Asian peers performed firm and foreign institutional investors stepped in, lifting sentiment. At one point the Sensex touched 83,484.02 and the Nifty inched to 25,577.20, signaling a recovery from a three-day slide.
In the final hours, buying in IT shares supported the momentum and helped erase earlier losses. The Sensex closed up 319.07 points at 83,535.35, with the Nifty adding 82.05 points to 25,574.35.
Market watchers said FII inflows and resilient tech names underpin this bounce, but caution persists as traders await earnings updates and policy cues in the days ahead.
