GMS Race Cars Acquires SRX Assets from Evernham
SRX Racing's brief run appears over as Ray Evernham Enterprises sells the fleet to GMS Race Cars. With branding and broadcast rights excluded, what does this mean for the series' future?
An additional chapter in the story of SRX Racing. The vehicles that were used in the Superstar Racing Experience have been sold by Ray Evernham Enterprises. The brief racing series, which was broadcast on ESPN and CBS at the time, is likely no longer in existence.
Ray Evernham's SRX Racing Series is doomed unless he constructs another fleet of vehicles. It's done as a real series, at least. Evernham Enterprises sold the entire fleet and equipment to GMS Race Cars, an engineering firm and manufacturer of asphalt late models.

What will they do with those cars, then? They will probably be utilized in driving programs, fan experience events, and perhaps a little race here and there. What started as a promising series swiftly turned into a series that was repeatedly parted.
According to GMS Racing's statement, they just bought the equipment. The agreement excluded all of SRX Racing's trademarks, branding, broadcasting rights, and other business assets.

“GMS has no affiliation with the SRX series operations.”
"This acquisition represents a huge opportunity to lead with the craftsmanship and durability that GMS is known for," said Joey Cohen, president of GMS Race Cars.
"It's incredibly gratifying to see these cars live on in a new format--whether in the hands of champions or first-timers, GMS is the perfect group to carry that torch forward," Ray Evernham said.
Indeed, this GMS is identical to the Petty GMS. Before last year, Joey Cohen worked at Legacy Motor Club. At Legacy, Mike Beam remains the President. Cohen is GMS Race Cars' president. Beam serves as the president of GMS Fabrication. Both play a significant role in this purchase.
With the acquisition, SRX Racing enters a new chapter. Fans can anticipate new developments, increased competitive action, and a larger role for SRX in American motorsports with GMS Race Cars at the helm.
