Is Winning at Poker Worth Losing Everything? Find Out! - Luck You (2007) Movie Review
Eric Bana plays a gambler facing family troubles and addiction as he navigates a high-stakes Texas Hold'em tournament in Las Vegas.
"Lucky you" is about a compulsive gambler played by Eric Bana who's prudence is over shadowed by his gambling skills i.e math and probability; if you know what I mean. He's so compulsive at gambling that he's almost pawned everything that he owns.
His dad (Robert Dual) is a two time poker world series champion who's a much more a wiser and successful player than Bana; Unfortunately they don't have a very good father-son relationship which leaves Bana always scouting for money. A world series poker (Texas Holdem) tournament is about to begin in Las Vegas and Huck Cheever (Eric Bana) is tying to buy his way in.
He comes across Drew Barrymore who might become his love. The movie moves at a very slow place with Huck loosing most of his bets all the way.. If you don't find poker interesting.. this is going to be very boring for you... as I found it in spite of knowing the game.
Rating: Good (but only a poker fan may appriciate)
