Gold, silver rise on MCX as outlook eyes key levels
Gold futures rise on MCX with silver jumping, as investors weigh safe-haven demand amid ongoing US-Iran talks in Geneva.
Gold and silver prices moved higher on the Multi Commodity Exchange, tracking firmer global cues and renewed buying interest. Gold futures for April 2026 climbed Rs 1,885, or 1.2%, to Rs 1,53,303 per 10 grams, while silver futures for March 5, 2026 delivery surged Rs 4,556, or 2%, to Rs 2,33,339 per kg.
In another session, gold futures for April 2 delivery were last trading 1.28% higher at Rs 1,53,363, while silver for March 5 delivery rose 3.94% to Rs 2,37,804, against Rs 2,28,783 in the previous session.
Analysts say gold is trading in the Rs 1,50,000–1,60,000 zone after consolidating from records near Rs 1,80,000–1,81,000. A sustained hold above Rs 1,60,800 could revive upside momentum toward Rs 1,65,000–1,75,000, maintaining the broader uptrend. On silver, prices are hovering around the Rs 2,30,000–2,70,000 zone after a steep pullback from record highs near Rs 4,20,000. The long-term bullish outlook remains intact, but a near-term pullback has left prices below major moving averages. A hold above Rs 2,25,000–2,35,000 could support a recovery toward Rs 3,00,000–3,25,000.
With markets watching Geneva talks and the broader global context, domestic bullion traders in Mumbai weigh how safe-haven demand translates into physical buying and futures action. Overall, the latest price action suggests a regained sheen for both metals, though volatility could persist as markets digest economic cues and geopolitics.
