Together Alliance rally co-organiser Kevin Courtney told crowds on Whitehall that the protest marked “the biggest demonstration ever against the far right” and that it gives participants confidence to carry on. Co-organiser Sabby Dhalu said the huge turnout helped “intimidate the far-right” into staying away from counter-protesters, signaling a united stand against division.
Chants echoed through the streets, including “say it loud, say it clear, refugees are welcome here” and “choose love.” Placards bore messages such as “Migrants make our NHS,” “No to racism, no to Trump,” and “Refugees welcome, stop the far right.” The event also featured a music element in Trafalgar Square following speeches on Whitehall.
A separate march organised by the Palestine Coalition joined the Together Alliance for the rally, highlighting a broad coalition against racism and intolerance. Police presence across central London was significant as authorities prepared for a day of demonstrations and potential unrest.
