Khaleda Zia, 80, the chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, was admitted to a private hospital in Dhaka after developing a chest infection that affected both her heart and lungs. Local BNP leaders said her condition had deteriorated and that she was placed on ventilation, with doctors monitoring her closely.
A five-member delegation of Chinese doctors arrived in Dhaka to assist the medical team supervising Zia’s treatment at the hospital, joining local and international specialists in the care plan.
