Polish influencer's 9-day livestream raises over £50m with celeb help
A Polish influencer's non-stop nine-day livestream, backed by global stars, raises tens of millions for a children's cancer charity.
A Polish influencer, Piotr Hancke, known online as Latwogang, pulled off a nine-day non-stop livestream from a Warsaw flat that raised more than 250 million zlotys (£50m) for a children's cancer charity, the Cancer Fighters Foundation. The marathon stream began on 17 April and ended on Sunday, drawing up to 1.4 million viewers at once at one point. The money continues to be tallied publicly on a dedicated charity site to ensure full transparency about every contribution.
Celebrities joined the appeal, including young football sensation Lamine Yamal, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin (who appeared in a video call and joked about his Polish), and Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski, who shared a dancing TikTok clip. Former Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny also joined the effort, with several guests even shaving their heads in solidarity for cancer patients. Hancke and his guests used the livestream to drive donations while sharing messages of support and hope for kids fighting cancer.
By the time the stream wrapped, the fundraising total was just over £52m, with the Cancer Fighters Foundation promising full accountability for the funds raised. The event included a charity track by Bedoes 2115 that Hancke listened to on a loop for the duration of the broadcast. The nine-day format combined music, celebrity appearances and appeals to donate, turning a personal livestream into a large-scale philanthropy effort that highlighted the power of collective action in Poland.
