Juvvaladinne to be developed as tourist destination, minister says
A state minister announced Juvvaladinne in Nellore district will be developed as a tourist site, as efforts to memorialize Potti Sriramulu pick up pace with a new 58-foot statue planned for Amaravati.
In a bid to boost regional tourism, the Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Ponguru Narayana, announced that Juvvaladinne village in Bogole mandal of SPSR Nellore district will be developed as a tourist destination. The remarks came during tributes to Potti Sriramulu on his 73rd death anniversary at a memorial in Nellore. He said detailed field-level assessments would be taken and discussed with Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu after examining the location at field level.
The minister noted that to mark the 58 days of Sriramulu's hunger strike, 6.8 acres have been allocated for a 58-foot statue to be installed within Amaravati CRDA limits and the work would be completed soon.
With Kavali MLA D.V. Krishna Reddy and other leaders present, floral tributes were laid on Sriramulu's statue in Juvvaladinne. Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, the State Social Welfare Minister, paid floral tributes to a statue opposite the CVN reading room in Ongole, stressing that the Telugu state was born from his sacrifice.
