Hyderabad Aims Global Spotlight With Telangana Rising Summit and Trump Avenue

Hyderabad is poised to host a landmark two-day Telangana Rising Global Summit at Bharat Future City, with the stage set for discussions that aim to propel the state onto the global economic map. The event is designed to showcase Telangana’s potential to domestic and international investors, with chief minister A. Revanth Reddy championing the agenda alongside global participants from firms like Sembcorp, McKinsey, and Analog AI, as well as representatives from the World Bank and Asian Development Bank. The summit aims to outline Telangana’s path to becoming a US$3 trillion economy by 2047, touching on topics from semiconductors and frontier technologies to education hubs, aerospace and defence, and healthcare accessibility for all.

In a bid to fuse branding with policy, the government has floated bold moves to position Hyderabad as a global innovation hub. A high-profile radial road running along the US Consulate General is proposed to be named after Donald Trump, while the Nehru Outer Ring Road area has already been linked to Ratan Tata via the ‘Tata Interchange’. Other branding initiatives under consideration include a ‘Google Street’ near Google’s campus, a ‘Wipro Junction’, and a ‘Microsoft Road’, reflecting a broader strategy to tie geography to a world-class economy and draw in multinational investment.

Beyond naming rights, the summit is expected to spotlight Telangana’s ambitious ‘Future City’ vision and discuss key sectors such as Genome Valley and life sciences, the evolution of education as a livelihood driver, and industry reforms that could accelerate growth. The event is billed as the first major global gathering in Telangana in years, with around 150 eminent personalities from India and abroad confirmed to participate, underscoring the state’s readiness for international engagement and investment.

This push sits at the heart of a broader developmental agenda under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who has framed the two-year milestone in office as a period of rapid reform and expansion. Supporters point to large-scale recruitment, welfare schemes for farmers and women, and institutional reforms as evidence of a government committed to tangible outcomes. The Global Summit, with its emphasis on attracting capital and knowledge, is seen as a catalyst for turning Telangana’s long-term visions—such as education hubs and a thriving film sector—into concrete economic gains.
