AIADMK Warns TVK Over ‘Poaching’ Claims: Face Severe Political Backlash
AIADMK's R.B. Udhayakumar issues a final warning to TVK's Aadhav Arjuna over claims of mass cadre poaching. Will Tamil Nadu see a major political shift or a massive backlash?
The political landscape in Tamil Nadu is heating up as the AIADMK issues a stern warning to the newly formed TVK party. Senior AIADMK leader R.B. Udhayakumar has dismissed claims that his party's functionaries are jumping ship, calling the allegations a horse-trading theater.
The tension sparked after TVK leader Aadhav Arjuna suggested that a staggering 90% of AIADMK's cadre were ready to join the party led by actor-turned-politician C. Joseph Vijay. Udhayakumar didn't hold back, labeling Arjuna a recent political entrant with no stable ideology. He warned that if these body-snatching attempts continue, the TVK will face severe political consequences and a massive backlash from the public.
Speaking to reporters in Madurai, Udhayakumar accused the TVK of using money power and administrative lures to buy out loyal opposition workers. He pointed out that while there is significant anti-incumbency sentiment against the ruling DMK, the TVK has only captured a small slice of that sentiment. According to him, the TVK is creating a mirage of despair around the AIADMK to make themselves look stronger than they actually are.
Meanwhile, other senior leaders like S.P. Velumani have reaffirmed that the AIADMK remains united under the leadership of Edappadi K. Palaniswami. Velumani emphasized that the party is his breath and expressed confidence that they will eventually return to power in the state.
The friction comes at a time when many political analysts are watching to see if the TVK can successfully fill the void left in the wake of former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa's passing. For now, the AIADMK is making it clear that they won't let their grassroots foundation be dismantled without a fight.
