Blake Lively and Baldoni Settle It Ends With Us Lawsuit Ahead of Trial
Settlement reached weeks before trial; terms undisclosed and both sides pledge safer, respectful workplaces.
Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni have reached a settlement in their high-profile legal dispute tied to the production of It Ends With Us, weeks before the scheduled trial.
In a joint statement, both sides said the completed film remains a source of pride and emphasized a commitment to safer, more respectful workplaces, acknowledging the process presented challenges and concerns raised by Ms Lively. “The end product – the movie It Ends With Us – is a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life. Raising awareness, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors – and all survivors – is a goal that we stand behind. We acknowledge the process presented challenges and recognize concerns raised by Ms Lively deserved to be heard. We remain firmly committed to workplaces free of improprieties and unproductive environments. It is our sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively and in peace, including a respectful environment online.”
Details of the settlement were not publicly disclosed. In December 2024, Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and fostering a hostile work environment during production, alleging he had “inserted improvised gratuitous sexual content,” as well as orchestrating a retaliatory scheme to silence her, and others, from speaking out. Baldoni countered with a $400 million defamation lawsuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and a $250 million suit against the New York Times following an article about Hollywood smear campaigns.
With the settlement, both parties can move forward and focus on the film’s legacy and the broader push for safer workplaces in the industry.
