Vijay Deverakonda, Rashmika Mandanna Seek Blessings in Village Vratham

Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna kicked off a new chapter in their married life with a traditional Satyanarayana Swamy Vratham in Vijay’s village. The couple sat side by side in white and red attire as the vratham began, with Vijay’s family joining the ceremony and priests guiding the rites. It marked their first together blessing after tying the knot.

What is Satyanarayana Swamy Vratham? It’s a sacred Hindu ritual widely observed in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka, dedicated to Lord Satyanarayana, a form of Lord Vishnu. The puja features the Satyanarayana Katha, five chapters from the Skanda Purana narrating the deity’s glory, followed by prasad—usually a Panchamrit made of wheat flour, jaggery, bananas, and milk. The ritual is believed to bring prosperity, peace, and divine blessings to a home and is especially common for weddings and housewarmings, and on full-moon days.

Villagers and elders gathered in large numbers for the ceremony, before escorting the couple into their newly built home. Vijay’s brother Anand Deverakonda and other family members were in attendance, and fans waited outside hoping for a glimpse of the couple.

Earlier this week, the pair visited the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam temple in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, where they distributed sweets to fans. A few days earlier, the couple had tied the knot on February 26 in Udaipur.

The Thummanpet visit ties the couple’s public life to Telangana’s cultural roots, with a community feast for more than 2,000 people as they continue to share personal moments with fans while honoring traditional rituals.
