Film producer Mukesh Bhatt says Awarapan 2 is not being postponed because they’re scared of Dhurandhar 2; he explains that Emraan Hashmi’s accident and subsequent surgery have paused action work for about 45 days, delaying key sequences for the sequel. There’s still one shoot schedule left for Awarapan 2, roughly 20 days, which Bhatt says will be completed in March in Malaysia.
Meanwhile, the industry has seen Dhurandhar 2, directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh, emerge as a blockbuster, reportedly earning over Rs 840 crore in India. The spotlight on industry calendars has fueled talk about release plans, but Bhatt stresses confidence in Awarapan 2’s future.
Regarding the film itself, Awarapan 2 is led by director Nitin Kakkar with writer Bilal Siddiqui; it reportedly stars Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi. The remaining schedule will be shot in Malaysia in March, with a tentative May or June release window.
