Deepinder Goyal to Step Down as Eternal Group CEO; Albinder Dhindsa to Take Reins
Deepinder Goyal resigns as Eternal's Group CEO, moving to Vice Chairman as Albinder Dhindsa named new Group CEO amid a board reshuffle, with a plan to keep the company focused while pursuing new growth outside the public
In a board-level reshuffle, Eternal Ltd, the parent company of Zomato, announced founder Deepinder Goyal would resign as Director, Managing Director and CEO, effective after shareholders approve. He will become Vice Chairman to pursue high-risk ideas outside the public company.
Albinder Singh Dhindsa, currently CEO of Blinkit, will be named Group CEO and Key Managerial Personnel, effective February 1, 2026. The board said this move will keep Eternal sharp and disciplined while allowing exploration of new growth avenues.
Goyal noted he is drawn to ideas with significantly higher risk and experimentation outside Eternal's strategic scope; such ideas are better pursued outside a public company. He said he would remain involved in long-term strategy, culture, leadership development, and governance, and his incentives would stay aligned with shareholder value. As part of the transition, all unvested ESOPs will revert to the ESOP pool.
Dhindsa will handle day-to-day execution, while Goyal's involvement in long-term strategy will continue. This governance shift marks a notable moment for Eternal, a company formerly known as Zomato Ltd, and will be watched closely by investors and employees as the new leadership takes hold.
