Tragedy Strikes: Popular Mexican TikToker César Gastélum Killed on Livestream

A popular Mexican social media influencer, César Gastélum, tragically lost his life on Tuesday after being shot dead during a livestream outside a restaurant in Culiacán, Mexico. Gastélum, known for his comedic videos and distinctive style, had amassed over 610,000 followers on TikTok and 130,000 on Instagram, captivating millions with his engaging content.

The shocking incident, which took place in the parking lot of a KFC restaurant on Boulevard Enrique Sanchez Alonso in Sinaloa state, unfolded as Gastélum was broadcasting live. Footage reviewed by Reuters and Milenio revealed that two men on a motorcycle approached Gastélum and two companions before opening fire. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.

Gastélum was a prominent figure in the online world, often seen sporting glasses, baseball caps, and chain jewelry in his humorous clips. He frequently collaborated with friends and other influencers, and in some posts, he referred to himself as “padre,” even wearing a large, golden crucifix and fabric resembling a Christian stole. His final TikTok post showed him in a cowboy hat, eating alongside another influencer, @La Beba. He also used the name @Compasexor on the livestreaming platform Kick.

This tragic event marks a grim milestone, as César Gastélum is reportedly the tenth influencer killed in the same state, raising serious concerns about the safety of public figures in the region.
