Prince George Turns 13! 🎉 New Photo & Eton College Bound!
Royal milestone! Prince George celebrates his 13th birthday with a new official photo and prepares for Eton College. Get all the details on the young royal's big day!
Kensington Palace has released a brand-new photo of Prince George to mark his 13th birthday, celebrating the young royal's entry into his teenage years. George, who officially turned 13 on Wednesday, July 22, is captured in a relaxed pose, smiling with his hands in his pockets, wearing a smart dark suit and an open-necked white shirt. The image was taken by Matt Porteous, a familiar photographer for the Prince and Princess of Wales’s family moments, shortly after George returned from Trooping the Colour in June.
The cheerful photo was shared across the Prince and Princess of Wales’s social media platforms, accompanied by the warm message, "Happy 13th Birthday, George!" complete with a festive party popper emoji. In addition to the official portrait, a heartwarming behind-the-scenes video montage was also released, showcasing Prince George enjoying the Cornish coast during his family’s Easter holiday. The footage showed him playing cricket on the sand, waving at the camera while sporting sunglasses, and clambering barefoot over rocks with his younger brother, Prince Louis.
George Alexander Louis, born at St Mary’s Hospital in London, is now second in line to the throne, following his father, Prince William. This autumn, the young prince is set to embark on a new chapter in his education, beginning his secondary schooling at the prestigious Eton College in Windsor. While it remains unconfirmed if George will be a boarder, Eton is conveniently located just a few miles from the Waleses’ family residence, Forest Lodge, in Windsor. His schooling prior to this has been at Lambrook, a private prep school.
