Bill Gates arrives in Amaravati on Monday for a high-profile round of talks with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, aiming to expand the Gates Foundation's footprint in public health and explore AI-powered governance. Gates is scheduled to reach the state secretariat in the morning and will briefly meet IT Minister Nara Lokesh and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, as officials outlined. The discussions will focus on widening cooperation in health initiatives and scaling artificial intelligence applications across Andhra Pradesh. The Gates Foundation is already implementing health projects in Kuppam, and the participants will discuss how these efforts can be expanded to benefit more people across the state. After the meeting, Gates will visit the Real Time Governance System center to see how technology is used to improve governance, with Naidu highlighting the Swarna Andhra 2047 vision and its reforms in medical technology, diagnostic services, and Sanjeevani—a digital health records initiative.
Later in the day, Gates and his team will travel to an agricultural facility in Undavalli village near Amaravati to observe the use of drones and artificial intelligence in farming practices. Gates has visited the region before, and this brief stop underscores Andhra Pradesh's push to blend health tech, AI, and modern farming to boost both health outcomes and food security.
