Carrick Demands More Signings! Man Utd Pushing for Lewis Hall & £100m Star?

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has made it clear that the club is far from done in the transfer market, openly stating his desire for more signings before the looming Deadline Day. The Red Devils have already been busy, bringing in talent to bolster the squad, but Carrick insists further enhancements are crucial.

So far this summer, United have secured Andrey Santos from Chelsea and Youri Tielemans in a £35 million move from Aston Villa, both aimed at strengthening the midfield following Casemiro's departure. The goalkeeping department has also seen new blood with Karl Darlow arriving on a free transfer from Leeds United to compete with Senne Lammens, while youngster Tynan Thompson joined from Tottenham for £8 million. Despite these additions, Carrick's ambition remains high.

The priority now appears to be a new left-back, with Chelsea's Lewis Hall reportedly Carrick's top target. He also acknowledged the significant spending by rivals like Chelsea and Tottenham, who have both splurged over £100 million on individual players. When quizzed about United making a similar marquee £100 million-plus signing, Carrick responded, "Well that's what we're trying to do." He elaborated that while it depends on the position and dynamics, such a move could happen if it's the 'right player'.

Carrick emphasized that squad enhancement is an ongoing process. "Again, it’s not purely on money. Obviously over time we need to be pushing to look to enhance the squad. So, yeah, 100% we need to do that," he stated. He expressed satisfaction with the business already conducted, but his message to the fans and the club hierarchy is unambiguous: "We’ve done really good business. So we’re delighted with that [but] we want more, we need more, we keep looking for how we can do that, so that never stops."
