The 2026 Grammys opened the In Memoriam segment with a blaze of guitars and emotion, paying tribute to artists who died in the last year. The crypto.com Arena crowd in Los Angeles watched as Reba McEntire, Brandy Clark and Lukas Nelson delivered a moving take on the track Trailblazer, flashing names like Brett James, Alan Bergman, Sheila Jordan, Roy Ayers, Jimmy Cliff, Malcolm Jamal-Warner and Chuck Mangione across a screen. The moment also carried a personal note for McEntire, whose set included a tribute to her late stepson, Brandon Blackstock, who died in August 2025.
Post Malone, Slash, Duff McKagan and Andrew Watt then took the stage for a scorching rendition of War Pigs, honoring Ozzy Osbourne. The guitar-heavy tribute brought the Los Angeles crowd to its feet, and the moment was particularly poignant with Kelly, Sharon and Jack Osbourne shown visibly moved backstage.
