Modi Warns on Infiltrators and Urban Naxals, Vows Tough Action

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday warned about ghuspaithiyas, or illegal immigrants, and urban Naxals, saying the central government will act against groups that pose a threat to the country’s security. He added that political parties that offer them shelter should be exposed with full vigor, urging the public to unmask such support before the nation.

The remarks came as Modi addressed BJP workers after Nitin Nabin was elected as the party’s new national president. He spoke at the party headquarters in New Delhi, signaling a reinforced stance as the party navigates elections in states like West Bengal where border concerns and infiltrators have become part of the political narrative.

Modi stressed that no nation accepts infiltrators and that India cannot allow them to rob its poor and youth of their rights. He argued that identifying infiltrators and sending them back to their countries is extremely necessary, underscoring decades-long calls from the BJP and its ideological mentor, the RSS, for tighter border controls and a clearer policy identity.

Drawing a line between security and politics, the prime minister also cautioned against groups he described as urban Naxals—activated political actors he said threaten national security. He urged party workers to expose those who shield such groups as part of vote-bank politics, emphasizing that the fight is not just statistical but about safeguarding the country’s future.

The BJP, aligned with the RSS’s broader policy framework, has long pushed for a stricter stance on illegal immigration, arguing that porous borders could undermine the welfare of citizens and the nation’s social fabric. Modi’s address signals a renewed push to translate that stance into concrete action and public accountability as elections approach.
