Restore Britain leader Rupert Lowe found himself in a "disastrous" interview on BBC Radio 4's Today programme, as he repeatedly dodged questions about whether he believes King Charles is a "white Briton." The tense exchange with presenter Nick Robinson centered around a report Lowe has quoted, which suggests that by 2063, white British people will be a minority in the UK.

The report defines a "white Briton" as someone whose parents were both born in the UK. Under this specific definition, King Charles, whose father Prince Philip was born in Greece, would not be considered a "white Briton." Robinson pressed Lowe three times on this point, asking directly, "Do you think he is a white Briton?"

Lowe's responses were evasive. He initially claimed that "many people have different interpretations" and that they were "splitting hairs."
