The full movie was uploaded by an unknown account at 6:05 AM Pacific time on Friday, the very day it hit theaters. This incident marks the second major Hollywood film to suffer a full leak on X within a week, following Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey.”
The pirated version of “Brand New Day” remained online for at least seven hours, during which it garnered an astonishing 5.9 million views, accumulated over 143,000 likes, and was reshared more than 10,000 times before being finally removed. Despite initial takedowns, copies of the film were quickly re-posted by other users, though most of these subsequent uploads were also swiftly taken down as Disney and Sony actively issued copyright infringement requests. Users attempting to view these reposted clips were eventually met with a message stating, “This media has been disabled in response to a report by the copyright owner.”
