Captain Shreyas Iyer then took control, racing to a fifty off 26 balls as he targeted CSK’s spinners, especially Rahul Chahar, with crisp inside-out drives and timely pulls. With 83 needed off 48, he swung the momentum, finishing with a measured knock that anchored the run chase.
Earlier, Chennai posted 209 for five, with Ayush Mhatre making 73 off 43 to lay a strong foundation. Shivam Dube contributed 45 not out off 27, while Sarfaraz Khan's 32 off 12 pushed the total past 200. Yuzvendra Chahal's spell, returning 3-0-21-1, briefly stemmed the tide before PBKS accelerated.
PBKS rolled home with eight balls remaining, sealing a second successive loss for CSK and climbing to the top of IPL 2026's early table.
