Molly-Mae & Tommy Fury Reveal Son's Name: Meet Midas!

Former Love Island contestants Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury have officially announced the name of their second child: Midas! The exciting reveal came from boxer Tommy Fury himself, who proudly showcased his son's name during his recent return to the boxing ring.

Tommy, 27, entered the ring for his fight against Eddie Hall in Manchester on Saturday night (13 June) with the word “Midas” emblazoned on his shorts. Following his victory, he reiterated the news, telling the crowd, “This was for my new baby son, Midas. Welcome to the world!” He was also seen wearing an England shirt with “Midas” and the number two on the back, signifying his second child.

The couple, who famously met on Love Island in 2019, had welcomed their new baby boy earlier this month, on June 3rd. They shared the joyous news with a black and white photo on Instagram, featuring themselves and their first child, three-year-old Bambi, greeting the newborn. The caption simply read, “… And then there were 4.”

The name Midas carries a rich reference to Greek and Roman mythology, specifically King Midas, who famously wished that everything he touched would turn to gold. While this gift initially seemed wonderful, he soon discovered its major downside when even his food and loved ones turned to cold metal. It’s a unique choice, and Molly-Mae, 27, had previously hinted that their second child’s name was “definitely not as different as Bambi,” though she noted she had only ever heard of one other child with the same name.

In a YouTube video, Molly-Mae shared her thoughts on the name, mentioning, “I had this complex about people saying it wrong, and I’ve spelled it out, and then a few of my friends have said it completely wrong.” She added, “It’s literally just someone I am connected to through a friend, not someone in the public eye.” It seems the couple has once again opted for a distinct and memorable name for their growing family.
