Days after the blast near the Red Fort, which killed at least 10 people, fresh visuals from Lal Quila metro station show commuters pausing in confusion as the explosion occurred in a car nearby. The incident has prompted a citywide security push, with officials directing all district police units to stay alert and monitor CCTV footage across Delhi. CCTV surveillance and social media monitoring are being undertaken simultaneously to ensure no clue is missed as investigators pursue every lead.
Investigators have linked the Delhi blast to a terror module based in Faridabad, and the probe has widened the net to trace financial and logistical links behind the attack. The connection to Faridabad surfaces as authorities piece together the sequence of events and the movements of those involved.
In the footage, a man sitting behind a food stall is seen as the sound erupts, with commuters stopping, looking around, and a police officer moving toward the blast site. The tense moment captures the immediate scramble and the communal effort to assess the damage.
Police say the driver of the car, Umar Nabi, and two associates pooled ₹26 lakh in cash and bought about 26 quintals of NPK fertiliser to manufacture improvised explosive devices. Earlier on the same day, 2,900 kg of explosives were recovered from Faridabad, along with 360 kg of ammonium nitrate recovered from the rented house of Dr Muzamil Shakeel. Authorities are combining CCTV surveillance with social media monitoring to ensure no clue is missed as the investigation presses on.
