B E A U T I F U L.. is the word to describe it. The movie depicts the youth and their thoughts back in 1983 when England is in a state of dissonance. England is at war in Falklands, Margret Thacher has just come to power, the economy is getting weak, millions unemployed, England loosing hold over its colonies and protectorates, thousands of immigrants settling down.. The Union Jack of the Power is now just another country on the world map.
The story is about a boy named Shaun (Thomas Turgoose) who 's being picked often upon his trousers. He meets a bunch of youth who welcome him in their gang and where he gets a sense of belonging. He's later is caught up in a clash of thoughts where he needs to decide how he's going to win his country back from the immigrants settling in his country.
The movie is beautifully crafted & picturised, and the actors have done a marvelous job in portraying their characters. Full marks to the director and his crew, the movie has a mind & body; heart and soul. Highly recommended!.
