Harry is currently in the UK to launch the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games and champion the WellChild charity, for which he is a patron.
Prince Harry arrived in London earlier this week without his family, a decision largely attributed to ongoing security issues following his step down as a working royal in 2020. However, both the Daily Mirror and Telegraph newspapers have since reported on the increased likelihood of Meghan and the children making the trip. This potential visit has ignited hopes for a significant royal reunion, particularly between King Charles and his grandchildren, Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, who last saw their grandfather in person during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
During his stay, Harry has been actively involved in public engagements, including a heartfelt visit to Birmingham Children’s Hospital. This visit was part of celebrating 20 years of WellChild’s specialist nursing program, showcasing his continued dedication to the charity. While Meghan's spokesperson has declined to comment on these reports, the prospect of her attending the Invictus one-year-to-go event at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham, originally scheduled for Friday, has added to the excitement.
The issue of security has been a protracted and contentious one for the Duke of Sussex. He has been in a lengthy legal battle with the Home Office over the level of protection afforded to him and his family when they are in the UK. Following a Court of Appeal challenge loss last year, Harry had expressed doubts about bringing his family back to the UK, stating in a BBC interview that Charles wouldn't speak to him because of the security court case.
