Maruti Suzuki Q3 Profit Rises to ₹3,794 Cr on Record Domestic Sales
Maruti Suzuki posts a 4% rise in Q3 net profit to ₹3,794 crore, with record quarterly domestic sales and strong revenue growth amid GST-driven demand.
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, the country's largest car maker, reported a 4% year-on-year rise in Q3 net profit, posting ₹3,794 crore for the quarter ended December. The improvement comes despite a one-time provision of ₹593.9 crore tied to the New Labour Codes. The company also delivered an EBITDA of ₹5,572 crore, up 10% from ₹5,064 crore in the year-ago quarter, with an EBITDA margin of 11.2% versus 13% a year earlier. Domestic demand remained buoyant, with the highest-ever quarterly domestic sales of 564,669 units, up from 466,993 units in the same quarter last year, marking an increase of 97,676 units. Net sales rose to ₹47,534.4 crore in the quarter from ₹36,802 crore a year ago, underscoring the robustness of the market during the period. The growth was helped by GST reforms, which lifted demand, particularly in the small-car segment, and contributed to the record volumes. While the one-time provision moderated margins, the overall financial performance reflects a resilient Indian auto market and continued strength in Maruti's sales mix.
