PM Modi Under Fire Over Ram Temple Trust Fund Allegations!
Congress's Rajeev Gowda demands accountability from PM Modi on alleged Ram Temple Trust fund misappropriation. Supreme Court to hear the case on July 13th. Find out more!
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is facing mounting pressure from the Congress party regarding serious allegations of misappropriation of funds within the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, responsible for the construction and management of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
Prof. M.V. Rajeev Gowda, head of the All India Congress Committee’s research wing, stated on Friday that since PM Modi took credit for the temple's construction and inauguration, he must also take responsibility for these alleged financial irregularities. Gowda highlighted that appointments to the Trust, including senior RSS functionaries Champath Rai and Anil Mishra, were made through the Union Government, with Home Minister Amit Shah playing a central role.
The Congress leader questioned why the Trust was kept outside the purview of the RTI Act if its operations were clean, and why Rai and Mishra have reportedly resigned amidst these allegations. He further criticized the Uttar Pradesh Government's Special Investigative Team (SIT), claiming it is compromised and only targeting "small fish" while ignoring the larger flow of funds. Gowda called for an independent inquiry supervised by the Supreme Court and demanded the immediate arrest of Champath Rai and Anil Mishra, along with the registration of an FIR.
Adding to the pressure, the Supreme Court is set to hear pleas related to the Ram Temple donation embezzlement case on July 13th. A petition filed by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Sudhakar Singh, seeking complete financial details of the Trust, including foreign contributions, is among those listed for hearing. Senior Congress leader K.C. Venugopal has also questioned PM Modi’s silence on the matter, intensifying the call for transparency and accountability.
