Finn Allen’s 100* powers KKR to an eight-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals, extending their IPL 2026 streak as DC struggle to reach 143 on a slow Delhi track.
On a slow Arun Jaitley Stadium deck, Kolkata Knight Riders chased 143 and did so in 14.2 overs, courtesy of Finn Allen’s blistering unbeaten 100. The knock helped KKR register their fourth consecutive win and keep playoff hopes alive in IPL 2026.
An unbroken 116-run stand for the third wicket between Allen and Cameron Green anchored the chase after DC’s innings folded to 142 for eight. Delhi’s batsmen struggled to time the ball on a surface that offered turn for the spinners, with Anukul Roy striking twice and Sunil Narine chipping in with a crucial breakthrough. Kartik Tyagi also picked up two wickets, underscoring KKR’s potency with ball and in the field. Pathum Nissanka stood out for DC with a 50, but his effort couldn’t carry the innings through.
DC had offered some resistance early on, with an opening partnership of 49 showing glimpses of a fight. However, a sharp stumping off Angkrish Raghuvanshi ended that stand as Nissanka edged toward a fifty before being dismissed at the start of the 11th over. After Nissanka’s exit, Axar Patel and Ashutosh Sharma added only 11 runs from overs 12 to 16, leaving DC with too little on the board on a pitch that was getting easier to bat on as the match wore on.
With the chase in sight, Allen took charge from the outset, reaching his half-century in style and eventually marching to a hundred, the decisive moment that sealed an emphatic KKR win. Green’s support gave the innings pace and momentum, and DC found no answers as the chase accelerated. The result keeps KKR’s campaign on track, while DC face a tougher path to the playoffs as the season progresses.
