Smriti Mandhana battled a massive flu but delivered a masterclass, guiding RCB to a dramatic 204-run chase victory and their second WPL title.
New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bengaluru clinched their second Women's Premier League title in a dramatic final. Mandhana's 41-ball 87 cut through DC's plan, and Georgia Voll added 79 as the pair stitched a decisive 165-run stand that powered a record chase of 204. The win cemented RCB's status as one of the league's most dangerous sides.
Coach Malolan Rangarajan praised Mandhana's leadership and noted she played through a massive flu and high fever. He called her innings one of the finest under pressure, pointing to her control and timing as she set the pace for the chase.
DC had posted 203/4, led by Jemimah Rodrigues' 57 and a late blitz from Chinelle Henry. But Mandhana and Voll tore through the second-wicket partnership, supported by late blows from Radha Yadav and Nadine de Klerk, to see RCB home with two balls to spare.
