President Donald Trump recently made striking predictions regarding global affairs and their timeline relative to the upcoming midterm elections. Speaking at Joint Base Andrews, Trump asserted that elevated energy prices, which he attributes to the ongoing conflict with Iran, will not decrease until after the midterms, still nearly two months away.

"Right after the election, oil prices are going to be tumbling downward," Trump told reporters. He clarified that the current high prices, with Brent crude above $101 per barrel and U.S. West Texas Intermediate futures exceeding $96 per barrel, are easily explainable:

All you have to do is say, 'Will you let Iran have a nuclear weapon?' And the answer is no.

Beyond oil prices, Trump also declared that the war against Iran, now in its seventh month, will conclude "immediately after the election." He posited that Iran "can't hold out any longer" and suggested that the nation is "desperate to try and affect the election" to bring in a "weak group of people" who would allow them to pursue nuclear weapons.
