Murmu Urges Peace in Manipur, Pledges Inclusive Progress
President Murmu calls for peace and inclusive development in Manipur during a Senapati visit, highlighting tribal heritage and inaugurating key projects.
President Droupadi Murmu, on a visit to Manipur, addressed a reception in Senapati district, urging all communities to continue the work of peace, understanding, and reconciliation. She said the Union government is dedicated to the well‑being and progress of the people and expressed happiness at being in a district with a proud tribal heritage. She noted the nation’s Nupi Lal Memorial Day as a powerful example of how women can drive positive social change and emphasized Manipur’s cultural diversity, including its tribal communities. The President highlighted that development must reach every corner of the state and that the government is working closely with local leaders, civil societies and communities to advance tribal regions.
