Lakhs of Class 12 students across the country found themselves in a state of panic and frustration this week as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) portal for accessing answer sheets faced severe technical glitches. For over 24 hours, the portal remained dysfunctional, leaving students unable to apply for scanned copies of their evaluated books.
Reports of login failures, persistent captcha errors, and completely inaccessible pages flooded social media as students tried to meet the original deadlines. Despite initial assurances from the board that the system was operational, the reality on the ground was quite different. The chaos has raised serious questions about the board's technical preparedness and its ability to handle high-traffic volumes during critical re-evaluation periods.
Acknowledging the crisis, CBSE eventually admitted to the technical glitches and temporarily withdrew the portal link to address the underlying issues. To compensate for the lost time and the immense stress caused to the student community, the board has officially announced an extension of the deadline to apply for scanned copies of the answer books.
While the extension brings some relief, many students and parents remain wary. The pressure of re-evaluation is already high, and technical hurdles only add to the anxiety of those looking to secure their academic futures. CBSE has clarified that while the date has been shifted, all other terms and conditions for the application process remain the same.
