Amanjot Kaur injury leaves big gap as India names WT20 WC squad
India captain Harmanpreet Kaur backs Bharti Fulmali and Radha Yadav to fill Amanjot Kaur's void ahead of the Women's T20 World Cup, with camp and England series to sharpen form.
Harmanpreet Kaur said Amanjot Kaur’s back injury has created a big hole in the squad ahead of the Women’s T20 World Cup in England, with Amanjot sidelined for four to five months. Finding someone like her to fill that role is very difficult, but the team is hopeful the replacements can step up when needed.
Bharti Fulmali remains in the mix after limited opportunities in South Africa, while Radha Yadav makes a comeback to the T20I setup following strong domestic performances. Kashvee Gautam’s knee surgery further narrows the options, and the management is working to balance the side so that players are ready for any role when required.
Harmanpreet also defended the bowlers after the South Africa series loss, stressing that one bad series should not define the team. The upcoming camp and England series are expected to help the squad regain rhythm ahead of the World Cup.
With Amanjot out, the leadership is focusing on depth and adaptability as the camp approaches and the squad gears up for England.
