Nick Jonas's Hilarious "Bombed" Frozen Audition Revealed! ❄️😂
You won't believe which iconic Disney role Nick Jonas wanted! The star admits he "bombed" his Frozen audition for Kristoff. Find out the hilarious details and why he still thinks he'd be better than Jonathan Groff!
In a surprising and hilarious confession, pop star and actor Nick Jonas recently revealed that he once tried out for a major role in Disney's beloved animated hit, Frozen, but candidly admitted he "bombed" the audition. The 33-year-old, known globally as a member of the Jonas Brothers and for his acting roles, shared the amusing anecdote during an episode of his family's podcast, "Hey Jonas!," much to the delight of his listeners.
Jonas had his sights set on playing the rugged ice harvester Kristoff, a role famously brought to life by Jonathan Groff. Recounting the experience, Jonas explained that when he arrived for the audition, he was unexpectedly asked what he would be singing. His response, "Oh, I don't know," coupled with his lack of sheet music, quickly led to a moment of panic. "No one told me I had…," he recalled, leading him to request the accompanist play "something from some musical theatre song." The result? "I bombed the audition. It was terrible," Jonas openly confessed.
The revelation came during a special episode featuring Frozen stars Kristen Bell (voice of Anna), Idina Menzel (Elsa), and Josh Gad (Olaf). Bell, ever the witty Anna, playfully responded to Jonas's story with a classic, "That must have been why you didn’t get it." Josh Gad, embodying Olaf's charm, even quipped, "Look, I’ll say it here. You have such better chemistry with Kristen than Groff," poking fun at the situation.
Despite the memorable mishap, Jonas maintains a good-humored perspective. "I love Jonathan Groff, but I do think it would have been better to cast me," he playfully asserted when asked by his brother Kevin. He also humorously added that he's "changed agencies three times since then," suggesting the audition might have been a turning point! While he didn't secure the role that day, Jonas confirmed he "really enjoyed" the movie. His other notable acting credits include Jefferson 'Seaplane' McDonough in the Jumanji franchise and Boone Clemens in Scream Queens, showcasing his versatility beyond music.
