Following a recent record-breaking heatwave, the UK is experiencing a shift in weather patterns, with cooler and fresher air arriving from the Atlantic. This change, however, brings with it a forecast of more unsettled weather for the early part of the week, which could impact visibility for some.
While Monday is expected to be largely dry with sunny spells across many areas, an approaching area of low pressure will bring thicker cloud and outbreaks of rain from the west on Monday night. This cloudy and wet weather is primarily forecast for Scotland, Northern Ireland, and northern England. For those hoping to catch a clear glimpse of the Strawberry Moon, the best chances are expected across the Midlands, Wales, and southern England.
Should weather conditions unfortunately obscure this week's full moon, keen observers have two more opportunities to witness a full moon this meteorological summer. The 'Buck Moon', named for the time male deer begin to sprout new antlers, will appear on July 29. This will be followed by the 'Sturgeon Moon' on August 28, named after the freshwater fish historically caught by Native Americans in the Great Lakes.
