Dramatic police work led to the rescue of a school student who was abducted for a hefty ransom, and the subsequent arrest of three suspects in Tirupattur. The incident, which caused significant alarm, concluded successfully thanks to the swift action of special police teams. The ordeal began when 17-year-old S.
Sanjeev Kumar, a student at a Government Boys Higher Secondary School, vanished on September 17. His worried father, T. Sivakumar, a farmer, soon received a distressing phone call demanding a staggering ₹50 lakh for his son's safe return.
He immediately filed a complaint with the Alangayam police, setting in motion a high-stakes investigation.
Police sprung into action, forming special teams that meticulously analysed CCTV camera footage and tracked mobile phone signals. Their diligent efforts paid off, leading them to a hideout in Bengaluru where the abducted student was located.
In a coordinated operation with local police, the team successfully nabbed the three suspects, R. Harish (22), V. Bhuvanesh (24), and G.
Desingh (21), all residents of Alangayam town, and safely reunited Sanjeev Kumar with his family.
