The post-mortem report states that Dular Chand Yadav died of cardiorespiratory failure due to shock caused by injuries to the heart and lungs from a hard blunt object. He collapsed while campaigning for Jan Suraaj Party's candidate Piyush Priyadarshi in Mokama on Oct 27, 2025. The investigation notes that a bullet found near the ankle joint was not the cause of death, and authorities will examine how he was hurt and who was involved.
Police have registered three FIRs and have nabbed two people. One FIR names local strongman Anant Singh along with four others as accused in one case. A second FIR was lodged on a complaint by the Jan Suraaj-led group, and a third arises from police investigation.
Two SHOs, Madhusudan Kumar (Ghoswari) and Ravi Ranjan (Bhadaur), have been suspended in connection with the case, reflecting the political heat surrounding Mokama ahead of elections.
Authorities say the inquiry will continue to uncover the full sequence of events and determine accountability, as suspicion and political tensions intersect in the region.
