Zack Polanski laid out the Greens' economic vision in a major policy address in a north London community garden, saying his party would drop GDP growth targets and prioritise wellbeing instead. He argued that focusing on growth can miss real people’s needs, saying, "Actually, I’m much more interested in growing people’s mental health, growing our public services, growing cohesion in our communities." He also condemned what he called “rip-off Britain,” where a small number of asset owners benefit while many struggle with housing costs and other basics. The emphasis was not on chasing an abstract number but on creating policies that lift lives and provide tangible support for households, especially in the context of mounting living costs.
