Judge Orders End to National Guard Deployment in Los Angeles

In Los Angeles, a federal judge ruled that the Trump administration illegally kept California National Guard troops in the city after emergency conditions had ended, triggering a legal dispute over the proper use of state forces in immigration enforcement.

U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer granted a preliminary injunction sought by California officials, who argued the Guard deployment without the governor's approval was improper and exceeded executive authority. California officials welcomed the injunction, while the Trump administration signaled it would seek further relief through the courts.
