Apple unveils AirTag 2 with longer range, a louder speaker, and smarter sharing, now available in India starting at Rs 3,790.
Apple has introduced the second-generation AirTag, bringing big improvements to its tiny tracking device. The AirTag 2 offers a longer range, a louder speaker, better security, and smarter sharing options, making it easier to find everyday items like keys, wallets and luggage.
In India, Apple is pricing the AirTag 2 at Rs 3,790 for a single pack and Rs 12,900 for a four-pack. To pair with it, FineWoven Key Ring accessories are available in fox orange, midnight purple, navy, moss, and black for Rs 3,900. Availability starts via apple.com and the Apple Store app, with in-store launches later this week.
Technically, the AirTag 2 is powered by Apple's newer second-generation ultra-wideband chip, the same one used in the iPhone 17 and Apple Watch Ultra 3. This enables up to 50 percent more range and more precise location tracking, helping you find items faster from farther away. For the first time, Precise Search can be used directly from compatible Apple Watches, letting you track a misplaced bag or keys straight from your wrist with haptic feedback, visuals and sound cues. The built-in speaker is redesigned to be 50 percent louder and can be heard from twice the distance.
It also enhances security and sharing capabilities and requires an iPhone running iOS 26 or later (or an iPad with iPadOS 26 or later), an Apple ID signed into iCloud, and Find My enabled to access all features.
Apple emphasizes that the AirTag 2 is environmentally friendly, continuing the company's push toward sustainable accessories alongside the updated tracker.
